“It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.”
― Oriah Mountain Dreamer, The Invitation.
I always found it difficult to say “No” to people. Does it sound familiar in your case ? I guess some are saying yes. As Maya Angelou says it “We are more alike, my friend, than we are unalike”. So is it the fear that you will hurt the other person,by your “No” or is it the fear of you feeling left out of the group if you say “No”. Whatever the case may be. The truth is that whenever you say “Yes” to people or circumstances ,when you really wanted to say “No”. It will haunt you.
I get a lot of emails requesting me to post their articles and poems on Imagination Breathing , some from friends and others from far better writers that I am. I have to say “No” to some because some articles and poetries do not carry with them the vision of Imagination Breathing.
So are you saying “Yes” to something , when you really want to say “No” ? Take a moment and ask your self that question.
I would like to conclude this post with two quotes for “Oriah mountain dreamer”-
“It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away.”
― Oriah Mountain Dreamer.
“I want to know if you’ve touched the center of your own sorrow, if you’ve been opened by life’s betrayals, or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain.”
― Oriah Mountain Dreamer
