Living with a purpose”

“We are here for a special reason. Stop being a prisoner of your past. Become the architect of the future” – A quotation taken from the book ” The Monk Who Sold his Ferrari” by Robin Sharma.

I believe we are here in this place so called ‘World’ for a special reason. As individuals we really need to discover our purpose in life. We need to dig deep within ourselves and listen to our inner voice or inner calling in our heart.

A purposeful life does not necessarily mean a life of material wealth nor does it have anything to do with being famous or living a luxurious life.

I believe a purposeful life is letting ourselves doing the things that is worthwhile and most importantly that gives us the inner joy, happiness and peace of mind, irrespective of what people say. Be it gardening, playing a musical instrument, writing , playing sports or simply reading a meaningful book. We need to have a passion and to go after the things that we are passionate about.

We all know that we are mortal beings, thus we only live once. In whatever we do, we need to strive for excellence and being the best that one can be.
We must enjoy our uniqueness and individuality , at the same time not compromising on the golden values in life such as honesty, self discipline, humility, kindness, etc.

As Deborah Day says,“Living in a way that reflects one’s values is not just about what you do, it is also about how you do things.”. Thus whatever field we choose to do in life, we need to dedicate ourselves and invest our time in it, so that we leave a legacy.

  1. I really enjoyed reading this. As a mother, everything that I do is to leave a legacy for my children. It is so important that we live out our purpose because we never know whose life will be blessed by what we do. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Wonderfully meaningful words to express simple yet satisfying thoughts and actions. The toughest part is to put theses simple words into action day in and day out.
