You are a LION and you are meant to ROAR!

Inspiration, Motivation, My Blog

You are not born for the ordinary. You are born to go beyond. Beyond boundaries, beyond your own restrictions, beyond your own comfort. You are meant to break the shackles of your fear. You are meant to be great. Coz you can. At times you may feel you are nothing, that you can do nothing, I do feel that too. There is this strange fear of failure, of being embarrassed, of being ashamed, of regret and failure.

You will struggle, we all do, its fine, its ok, its part of a long journey. That fear will be there, it will grow, it will grow on you even more, that fear of not being able to achieve everything, that life will not be enough to achieve everything you ever want. But that’s ok, life is a learning journey, you will get somethings, some will be a struggle, but at the end wouldn’t it all be worth living. “Life happens” and yours will happen too.

You will make it to the top, you will some day, some day soon. Keep hoping, keep working, keep struggling, coz that struggle is life.. that struggle is “Life Happening”. Fight for it, make it a struggle worth fighting, coz you are a Lion and you are meant to ROAR!

5 Things you did not know about 2019.

My Blog

While some of us are making our New Years resolutions – we have entered into the New Year. In this post I am going to tell you about 5 things you did not know about 2019.

1. If you don’t take action, this year will not be any different.

You may have decided to do certain things, achieve certain results and live your dream life. This won’t be possible if you don’t take any action on those decisions. I like the Nike tag line – just do it. So let’s take some concrete actions on our desires to achieve higher results.

2. No one is going to help you more than you can help yourself.

We need people around us, no doubt about it. But if we only depend on people to help us reach our destination, we will never reach there. People have their own sh*t to deal with. So, you do all you can to achieve your goals and depend less on others doing it for you.

3. Health is wealth.

Last year I have seen too many young people dying due to health problems. There is no use of trying and getting millions, if your not there to enjoy it. This year let’s keep the balance between work and time to look after our body.

4. You don’t read, you don’t lead.

So many things are happening in our world today, that keeping a pace with what’s happening around us becomes very important. Let’s make a commitment to read more this year, because I believe reading and leading is directly associated with each other.

5. You are awesome.

I believe you are beautiful, handsome, hot, sexy, intelligent, successful and whatever you wish to be. Deep down I know you want to be that. Believe you are beautiful or handsome or successful and I am sure confidence, hardwork and belief in yourself will take you just where you want to be.

May be all of these 5 things were just a reminder to start this year with right mindset and positive attitude..

Have a wonderful year 2019.😀

In a world where updating and upgrading are so common practices on Social Media Apps, that sometimes I wonder if we have forgotten to update or upgrade our life. We are so familiar to all these platforms(whats app, Facebook, Instagram) They are really amazing platforms and I love using them. I am sure you do too. There are many of us spending hours in editing a photo to upload on our status and then spend hours checking the number of people who have liked or viewed our status.

I just want to ask, how much time are you spending on updating your life? When was the last time you took a course to learn something or develop your skills? I don’t mean that you should go out and spend lots of money on courses, but begin with thousands of online courses which are offered for free. I will link to some of the learning websites at the end of the post….
Let’s invest some of our time in learning and updating our life so that along with our social media status update, let our lives be updated too.

Here are couple of websites which I have used and found them really good and user friendly. They are also available on app store- (android and ios) which makes it easier for you too learn on the go……

Bigger the crisis, bigger the opportunities…

My Blog

The words of Napoleon Hill are ringing in my ears.

Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit”.

If you are not experiencing crisis or have never experienced crisis in your life than this post is not meant for you. But for those who are or have experienced crisis in your life, let’s make this reading journey together.

Hey, by no means I wanna say that I am an expert at crisis handling, I am in crisis most of the time but there are things that have helped me to come out of crisis and that is exactly what I am gonna share, and may be you can use some of these methods…

One of my good friend committed suicide some time back and no one even knew he was going through crisis or problems, because he never expressed it or showed any signs of it. May be you are going through some crisis in your life or may be someone who you know may be going through one, but never shows it. This post may be just something that you may need or someone else may need. So, don’t forget to share it….

Do you remember when you were a child small things such as electricity going out before your favourite TV show would be so disheartening that we would feel our whole life had collapsed. Time when your best friend did not give you the chocolate and gave it to someone else we would be so hurt that – thoughts like why;what; how would emerge in our head and would not talk to them for days, just because of a chocolate. Today when we have grown up a little we look back and find all those small small tensions = something to laugh at… like wise I feel Half the crisis or tensions go away when we talk to someone with a little bit of more experience in our life than we have, so that brings me to my first point..

1.Find a mentor: Here the person should have seen a little more life than you have, should be professional at mentoring and someone who you can trust and of course who has to be a good listener, no body likes advices, people like people who can be their guide and not advisers.

2.Books: Books(self help) according to me are a great source of support. So always have a good self help book by your side.

3.Don’t tell your problems to everyone: Truth is nobody cares about your complaining and problems. They are rapped in their own world, all don’t really care, they may feel sorry for you. Tell me, what are you gonna do with their feeling sorry?

4.Write down 2 things : Everyday write down 2 ways in which your life can be better. Believe me I tried this for 30 days few years back and let me tell you, it worked and worked in ways I couldn’t fathom. I can’t tell you the science behind it..but it works.. try it..

5.You are in that situation for a reason: You can allow your situation to make you or break you. There is a reason for it all.. wait, it will unfold itself.

I will leave you with few lines…

May be...

If Steve jobs had got stuck in the crisis after he was fired from the company he started, May be, we wouldn’t have PIXAR animation studio.

If J.K.Rowling got stuck in the back of her car thinking of all the problems in her life and never starting to write something, may be, we wouldn’t have HARRY POTTER.

I can go on and on with may be.. but what’s more important is

If ……………………(your name) prevailed through my crisis then may be the world will be able to witness……………….

Remember, Sometimes making opportunities for yourself is better than waiting for one….

Onto the Next Horizon. by: Matti War. New Delhi, India.

Onto the Next Horizon

Yesterday was the last day of my exams and it was a relief. Four days of back to back papers and term papers makes every exam I’ve appeared for so far, look like a walk in the park. Add to that an ill-timed attack of the cold and cough and I was effectively hindered. Not a good semester for me, it seemed. The last paper was quite tricky. If there was one thing I’d learnt ever since arriving at the university I’m in now, it’s that one should never think that they know enough about anything. I still find that I am quite ignorant about the world around me, where everything is cutthroat. And for someone who came from a different world, it was a bit of a nasty shock.

Today, my friend and I decided to go for a morning walk to clear our heads after nights of feverish reading and preparations. I found it a spooky experience, as we walked along the pathways I thought I knew like the back of my hand. Throughout my stay, I had only seen the place flooded with sunlight, soaked in rain or coloured with dusk; never have I seen it shrouded in stillness so eerie and peaceful at the same time. The paths which branched out in different directions receded into the inky shadows and the darkness seemed capable of swallowing anything that walked into it. I am ashamed to say that though I have never been one who endorses in beliefs of ghosts, spirits and whatever that’s associated with a life beyond the grave, that moment made me hyper-aware of my surroundings. The slight crackling of a leaf getting stepped on, the whoosh of a breeze teasing the foliage, distant footsteps that reverberated in the ground; every single sound or movement made me glance over my shoulder one too many times. Even my friend’s assurances that there was nothing to be afraid so did little to soothe my paranoia. However, the sky started to lighten up, the midnight blue softened to lighter shades as we walked together in companionable silence. When we reached the hostel, we agreed to stay for the sunrise as well. No use going back to sleep when in an hour’s time, we’d be getting breakfast.

The horizon blushed orange when we reached the rooftop. Breathtakingly beautiful and calming! And I realized that it was the perfect way to begin the ending of the 2014 chapter of our lives. I have been struggling with feelings of insecurity and uncertainty for quite some time and it showed in my inability to work on anything I had planned to accomplish. But that simple moment made me realize that it doesn’t matter at all. That’s not how one should live. Not by regretting, or looking back with hopes that we will somehow end up in some place we wanted to be but couldn’t. Not by thinking that it’s impossible to change what had transpired so far and resigning ourselves to simply living. By not getting discouraged when we’re at the lowest point of our lives but knowing that it always gets better as we go.

A year ago, I was reluctant to open myself to new experiences and I was craving for the familiar faces, sights and smells. Now, I realize that my life is going to go through its cycle of change in a few months’ time. Everything is transient yet we are hardly aware of it. I have friends who are going through the exact same motions I went through some time ago. I know that it’ll get better for all of them, the same way it got better for me. For me, the place I had felt out-of-place initially is now a second home to me. Leaving it would mean leaving all the kind people I have encountered but they will remain. In their own small way, they have left their impressions on me, postcards that I treasure in my heart.

And so, as I watched the horizon emit a stronger glow, I felt a secure sense of security in life that I know is going to help me in the days to come. Yes, there’ll be moments of darkness where I’ll have to find my way, stumbling in the dark. But there will be good times as well. An occasional helping hand, a small act of kindness from some stranger that I will encounter in future, as I keep moving on. And in time, it will be me who is going to be that kind stranger to some other lost soul. We keep taking and giving as we move on and we take each and every precious moments of happiness and keep them close to our hearts for inspiration.

And that’s the purpose of a journey, isn’t it?

Life is a CAROUSEL. by: Jessica Rymbai. Shillong,India.

 Life is a  CAROUSEL

I thank the creator for the life that he gave me. Life has many meanings depending on how one views it. Life is also interpreted differently by each one of us and it is the attitude which matters how we handle and face it. Life is to be loved by each one of us and lived to the fullest despite of the many shortcomings, frustrations and sorrows that come in our way.

I personally do not agree that we should consider life from the situations and circumstances that we are in. Life is to be cherished and enjoyed. We must not judge life from the basis of the many sorrows, pain that life brings in our way; instead life on the other side offers each one of us better chances, better opportunities to adapt and improve, to challenge ourselves and to get better. Life may be short and we must not take it for granted. We are all blessed with a life so that we may be able to accomplish and complete the various purposes that each of us as individuals are called upon to do so whilst our stay here on earth.

Life should be viewed optimistically. I do not like to end my day without a smile on my face. I wake up in the morning thanking the Almighty for giving me another day, another chance to begin again. To be blessed with a life is such an honour.

To most of us, life is a challenge, a struggle and a continuous battle. True! But we must remember that we are given this life because we have the strength and courage to overcome, to face and cope up with what life presents to us. Sorrows, pain, the loss of loved one, miseries are all part of the journey of life, but we must never overlook the positive side of life such as love, joy and peace.

Through my experience, it is the ups and downs of life which makes life meaningful and worth-living. To live a life we must be ready to encounter and face hardships. We must be willing to face it with confidence accompanied with patience. The hardships along with other positive aspects of life are interwoven and when such things are knitted together- a wonderful fabric of life will be seen.

This reminds me of a song “At the beginning” by Richard Marx and Donna Lewis. The lyric of this particular song goes like this-

“Life is a road that I wanna  keep going,

Love is a river, I wanna keep flowing,

Life is a road, now and forever, wonderful journey”

Thank You.

A lesson I learnt from “Simplicity”. by Paul Fernandes

My Blog

oscar

A lesson I  learnt  from “Simplicity”.

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.  Leonardo da  Vinci.

The greatest ideas are the simplest.  William Golding.

I once had an opportunity to spend about 15 days in one of the remote village in Karnataka(India). I wasn’t sure if I could manage 15 days. But somehow I did. One thing I learnt from those people in that particular village was “Simplicity”. They lived a simple life, I suppose most villages would have a simple life style. What baffled me was their genuine smile and laughter. They did not have Internet facility, no television set, no mobiles and some parts of the village had no electricity too. Their day would commence with a prayer, a cup of tea and then they would rush to the corn fields with their tools. I realized that the only way to learn about them was to live among them, even though it was for a very short time. Let me tell you, It was very challenging and difficult, but today 4 years later when I look back, I think it was one of the most transforming experiences I had in my life. I realized that the simplicity they carried with them, was the cause of their togetherness. The community spirit they had within them was the key to their happiness.  They lived together, shared what little they had with them with the one who had nothing. If you are reading this I suppose you are reading from your computer or a tablet or a cell phone, which means you are in a pretty developed place. I often wonder and I continuously question myself what more can I do with the wonderful education and experiences I have received . How can I use my gifts for the betterment of the society? A question I would throw at you’ll would be, how can we make the place we work or stay a more community based place, where we are ready to share whatever  little we have with one another and make that particular place  a  joyous place for everyone to live in.  As Nido Qubein said  “Change brings opportunity” .  Are you being  part of that change? to help people live happy  and prosperous life.  You are most welcome to share your ideas in the comment section.
