“Cool”and “Awesome” is just not good enough .
“Simple can be harder than complex: you have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains”. Steve Jobs.
I once met a young kid in a train and in a casual conversation with him in a local language I asked him. Do you speak English? The reply he gave me brought a great laughter out of me. He said with an innocent tone. “I know when to say the words ‘cool’ and ‘awesome’ – and I think people think that I know English”. Ha ha.
It’s strange but so true that some of us want themselves to be called cool and awesome. The question here is do you just want to be called cool and awesome for what you wear or do you want to be called for the way you make others feel. Some how I feel just being ‘cool’ and ‘awesome’ on the outside is just not going to be good enough for us to take us through life in this 21st century. You being called cool and awesome for external reasons, will fade away with time. What will remain with the other person who called you cool and awesome is – How you made them feel while you were with them. We all like to be remembered for the good we do and not for something that is just passing. So what’s stopping us? Are we so stuck in a rut of wanting to be called cool and awesome for external reasons that we have forgotten to be good humans.
Continue being cool and awesome but lets also be good humans who are remembered for how we make others feel.
I’ll like to end today’s blog with a quote from Charles Dickens..-
“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another”.
Have a great week ahead of you.
